Last Minute Project

OH MY GOD!!!

I totally decided to do this jam last minute after telling myself fifty times that I wouldn't be doing it because I "didn't have time".

But then I got an idea stuck to my head and I absolutely had to write it. So I wrote the script, drew the background and sprite, and did the base code all in two hours. I ended at 3 in the morning and I was exhausted.

My code didn't work but that was ok because I was going to fix it after I streamed. Luckily everyone I talked to is kind and patient which I really appreciated especially since I was starting to get frustrated. This was my first game I coded in renpy. It was really hard because no matter how hard I try, I can never seem actually grasp the tutorials or concept itself.  The relief I felt when the game actually worked was almost eutrophic.

After that was all done, I decided to add a quick kalimba song I made myself. I wanted it to sound slightly messy and as if someone who just started out playing was making the song. I think it fits well into the game aesthetic and Me. The whole theme or purpose of the game was to showcase how not all monsters are scary and some are lonely as well. Difficult to do in 1000 words, but I think I did well for my first time actually creating a renpy VN game. And putting it out there where everyone can see.

I'm really scared. And nervous. But also excited and proud. I hope everyone enjoys this.
